A new generation of iPhone revealed! Apple wants to play big in this way
According to the latest news from the industry chain, Apple will use OLED screens on all three new iPhones launched in 2020, bidding farewell to LCD screens. This means that they have greater demand for OLED screens, so the quantity and cost must be reconsidered.
It is reported that Apple will introduce a new OLED screen supplier for the next generation of iPhone products, and this supplier is from China’s BOE.
Existing iPhone screens have a separate touch-sensitive layer that sits on top of the actual display. However, the next generation design offered by Samsung - a touch-integrated flexible OLED screen - no longer requires a separate touch-sensitive layer. Such a screen is lighter and thinner, and may have lower production costs. According to reports, Samsung already recommended the new screen to Apple last year.
According to Korean media reports, Chinese screen manufacturer BOE is also investing in the same technology. The company is China's largest screen manufacturer. BOE has already received orders from Huawei and is hoping to win Apple's favor. The company already produces screens for iPads and MacBooks, has spent billions of dollars on Apple promotions before, and even proposed a dedicated production line for iPhone screens.
